Renowned artist Yayoi Kusama has died. She continued painting until right before she passed away. She experienced hallucinations during her childhood. Kusama received the Praemium Imperiale award for her achievements in art. Her work gained global fame. One creation, the Red Pumpkin artwork, became a symbol of Naoshima island. She kept working until her death. She created art rooted in her early childhood experiences and her signature polka dots.
