The Conservative Party has introduced plans to do away with the £100,000 threshold for free childcare. Kemi Badenoch, the party's chief secretary, has described the current rule as 'absurd' and has said that the move focuses on eliminating the 'cliff edge' where wealthier households face considerable financial strain. The proposal has been extensively covered by major UK news outlets, for example the BBC, The Guardian, and Financial Times.
