Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, condemned Labour’s inner culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his statement at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unfazed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Party documents and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
