Recent periods of high temperatures across Europe caused over 35,000 fatalities. Germany reported a record 15,800 heat-linked deaths during the summer season. Meanwhile, France linked a significant increase in drownings directly to the extreme heat conditions affecting the region.
Conditions remain severe in the United States in addition. Intense thermal stress and active wildfires spread across the country from Texas all the way to the West Coast. Arizona remains set to experience extreme temperatures this week. In response to the hazardous weather, governments issued safety advisories to protect the public through the current climate strain.
