Hurricane Simon has intensified into Category 4 as it bears down on Mexico's Pacific coast, posing the most immediate threat of three storms active at the same time. Tropical Storm Rachel is also heading for Mexico, adding pressure on authorities managing the dual threat.

Separately, Hurricane Isaias has made landfall in the Gulf region of the United States. The rare convergence of three named storms puts both the Mexican Pacific coast and parts of the US Gulf under active weather emergencies. Emergency services on both sides of the border are urging residents to take precautions, while forecasters continue to monitor the movement of all three systems. The situation remains highly fluid, with conditions expected to deteriorate further in coming hours.
