Mark Carney opens Canada Investment Summit with tax break

Prime Minister Mark Carney kicked off the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto on Tuesday.

He took the opportunity to unveil a fresh Productivity Mega Deduction. The deduction is a tax measure designed to make Canada the most competitive G7 country for corporate investment. Officials described it as a pivotal move.

Carney also told the summit that visa policies will be taken up with the European Union. Police laid charges after a demonstration at the summit.
