The Rugby Football Union intends to offer England head coach Steve Borthwick an extended contract. The planned agreement would retain him as head coach beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and through the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would remain in charge of England at each tournament under the planned deal. His time in charge would carry on after the next men's Rugby World Cup, and then through England's Six Nations campaign in the year that followed.
The new contract would leave him in charge after the 2028 tournament had concluded.
